If you were thinking of signing up for Carbonite it is going to cost you $0.99 more. Quietly on July 1st, 2013 Carbonite increased the cost of their home and business plans by $0.99. This small price increase brings Carbonite Home Plan to the same yearly price as the one year CrashPlan account price. They are also $9.99 more expensive that Backblaze. It does not appear that there is any no features that have been added to the plans with the price increase so more of an adjustment to keep up with rising costs.
The last price increase from Carbonite was back in November 2012 when the price of the three year home plan went up $10.00. There was a 24 hour notice when that price increase came into effect.
Carbonite is still a decent value with a full featured mobile app and the newer Currents sync app that are available so while there are no new features with this price increase they do give you some decent additions to you plan just by being a customer.
