Carbonite Launches Video Series with Advice for Small Businesses

Carbonite has launched a new video series featuring CEO David Friend. They are also accepting questions for the series so this is a great chance to pick the brain of Carbonite’s CEO. The first video (embedded above) tells the story of the beginning of Carbonite and it got started. A fairly similar story to many of the cloud backup services.

Carbonite originally focused on photo backup and was available at Staples but quickly moved past just photo backup to backup of other user data as well. Since 2006 they have partnered with Microsoft, Packard Bell, Lenovo and with Acer to provide backup services to their customers. Interesting to hear some of the history of the company and why they started backing up data.

It will be interesting to follow the video series just to learn more about Carbonite. Perhaps someone will ask for more details about Carbonite dropping their advertising on Rush Limbaugh and how that has worked out for them. Somehow I can’t see that making the series, but you never know.
