The JDI Backup Family – MyPCBackup, JustCloud, ZipCloud and Backup Genie

JDI BackupI was looking through the statistics here for Cloud Storage Buzz and noticed a lot of people are landing here on the site looking for the answer to one similar question, are the online backup companies MyPCBackup, JustCloud, ZipCloud and Backup Genie the same. The short answer is YES. MyPCBackup, JustCloud, ZipCloud and Backup Genie are the same and are all different brands operated by JDI Backup. JDI Backup is actually part of Just Develop It a company located in the UK. They have their main offices at Unit 6, Fulcrum 2, Solent Way, Whiteley, Hampshire, United Kingdom, PO15 7FN

Here is the Google Map of their location.

JDI Backup and their brands are just a small part of the websites Just Develop It has created. They also run sites like:

  • JustHost – a web hosting website.
  • Intellichat – an automated smart agent for websites.
  • Vintage Pig – a promotional products website.
  • Grab a Laptop – a website selling refurbished laptop.
  • Design Fusions – a website design and development website.
  • Turbo Your PC – a website selling a system utility that allows PC users to increase their system speed, eliminate desktop clutter and reduce error messages.

That being said the online backup brands of MyPCBackup, JustCloud, ZipCloud and Backup Genie are not all identical. They do have some differences but the software is all created and maintained by the same company so even though there are differences in plans and features the software is all fundamentally the same.

You will notice though that the terms and conditions for all four brands are almost identical. You can see them here, here, here and here. It is their terms of service that is of most concern besides what seems to be buggy software. Particularly the terms in section 14. the “Termination and Fair Use Policy” and their Early Termination Fee that I mentions in the Online Backup Refund policies post recently.

Now that you know that MyPCBackup, JustCloud, ZipCloud and Backup Genie are the same you might want to know if you can trust them to safe guard your files, photos and videos of your kids, your music collection and all the other priceless files and information on your computer. Cloud Storage Buzz does not recommend any of these companies for your online backup needs. While they have made improvements since they started it is probably best to look elsewhere.

I’ve been getting spams from this company and phoned them to stop, they did for a few weeks then started again, send them an email and you gent an auto response with a few page links, if you get the on-line chat box pop up and enter anything they will just give you an auto reply with a link to a page with a final offer of 70% off. Fucking con!

I never knew about this JDI Computer B until I got my credit card debited last week. I duels informed the bank of a fraud. I only subscribed to JustCloud and previous invoices had been JustCloud. I googled JDI to discover this site. Now without my consent they have upgraded me from Premium to Uncapped GB of which. I have been debited.

If you can tell me how to stop JDI Back up pop ups and get them out of my computer and my life.
Thier sales approach is very unprofessoinal and downright sneaky.
I want them gone forever. Any suggestions?

I just removed this “thing” on my Win 8.1. Open explorer, Program Files, “MyPC Backup” folder (do not recall the exact name). There should be an “uninstall” exe. Run it.

Evil JDI popup is on my computer. Can anyone suggest how to remove it? I have Windows Vista Basic and have tried to locate it but was not successful.

That disturbs me in so many ways. Think I will make sure it does not link to them.
