Backblaze announced on their blog yesterday that they will be discontinuing support for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger effective February 1, 2013. This is not surprising since OS X 10.4 Tiger was released in April 2005 and the last security update provided by Apple was in 2009.
In order to keep using Backblaze customers would need to updgrade to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or newer. Current Backblaze customers could order the newer operating system direct from Apple or, here is the surprising part, Backblaze will offer to send you a free copy of Mac OS X 10.6 on DVD so you can upgrade and continue to be a Backblaze customer!
There are not many companies that want to keep your business that they will offer to upgrade your operating system for free. If you want to take advantage of this visit the Backblaze blog for more details.
