In September Bitcasa announced that co-founder and CEO, Tony Gauda was stepping down. Taking over as CEO is Brian Taptich who previously was Vice President of International Development at Zynga and prior to that had positions at Davis Shapiro Media Advisors, BitTorrent Inc. and Electronic Arts. There is no word publically what Tony Gauda will be persuing next but he has created a new WordPress blog that you can follow to keep up with his latest posts.
In other news October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (in the US anyways). If you are from the US, or even if you are not, they do have some decent information on the Homeland Security website about how to protect yourself online. Of course with the US Government shutdown right now there might not be any new information added to the site until they can get back to work.
Whether you are from the US or not though you can take advantage of saving 10% on your subscription to Bitcasa with the promo code CYBER10. Always nice to save a few dollars on a decent service, and think about it, you probably spend more on coffee at Starbucks in a month than this will cost but a subscription to Bitcasa could change your computer storage forever.
Privately store, share, & #backup your files from all your devices! This month save 10% on the #Bitcasa Infinite Drive w/ code CYBER10
