Things seem to be pretty quite in the online backup world the last couple of weeks so that gave us a chance to do some spring cleaning here at Online Backup Deals. One of the goals for the site this year was to spruce up the design and make the content easier to read and more importantly make it easier to read on various different devices. With that goal in mind we have launched the latest version of Online Backup Deals now running on the Headway Theme framework.
As you can see the site design is not drastically different from what it was before on a desktop or laptop. You might notice the fonts are slightly larger and the main content area is little wider.
There are some significant changes with how the site displays on a tablet or on a smartphone and this is on of the biggest reason the site was moved into the Headway Theme. Headway Theme uses a responsive design so the site looks similar but is easy to navigate and use on the many different size screens. Below you can see a few examples of the site on my Android smartphone and tablet.
There are still some changes to come to the site but overall it has worked out well to switch to the new design.
Another design element that has been added to some of the reviews is the ability for readers to use a star system for voting on their favorite online backup services. Over the coming weeks all of the reviews will be getting a new user rating box.
On another note we also have a new joint project in the works that will be launching in the next week or so. I won’t say to much at this point but look for an announcement in mid March.
