CrashPlan Price Increase

CrashPlan is the latest online backup service to raise their subscription rates. There is no change in plans only rate increases, but some rates have increased as much as 45% from their previous price.

Here is a break down of the new prices.

Even with the price increases CrashPlan is still an excellent value. I will be going through the site and updating the CrashPlan prices to reflect these recent changes. You can still save 10% on one and two year subscriptions using our links below.

Update: I have tried to get in touch with CrashPlan to find out when these price changes took effect, but they have not replied to either tweet I sent from the Online Backup Deals Twitter account or my personal account. The tweets are embedded below.

Checking out the CrashPlan Facebook page I did see someone complain about the price increase on January 2, 2013 at 11:12pm so the new prices must have went into effect either on January 1 or 2nd. A little surprised on CrashPlans silence on the price increase, they have not even let affiliates know of the change (yes Online Backup Deals is a CrashPlan affiliate) since it can take time for them to change product information on websites.

I think they’re not able to meet up with the demand.. the upload speeds have decreased a bit (Facebook page).
Maybe because of the Black Friday deal.

And I guess they’re trying to increase the price to meet up with the demand.

I snagged a free account with the Black Friday deal and the upload has been terribly slow. Granted I am not using it as my primary online backup but I can see why people would be a little annoyed by the slowness of the upload.
