TechCrunch has an interesting post about a recent Dropbox security issue that made it possible for people to login to any Dropbox account with only an email address and no password! This issue existed for roughly four hours, from 1:54 PM PDT and was fixed at 5:46 PM PDT. The Dropbox blog has a short, brief post about the incident.
This latest incident is another great reason to look at using a Dropbox alternative, such as SpiderOak. If you are using Dropbox you might want to remember to not keep sensitive information in your Dropbox folder.
