Rush Limbaugh is no stranger to controversy but at least he has the sense to backup. Last year he had several sponsors drop his radio show over some of his more controversial remarks about Sandra Fluke. One of those sponsors was Carbonite who offered this statement from David Friend, CEO of Carbonite.

“No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh, with his highly personal attacks on Miss Fluke, overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency. Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.”

It certainly looks like IDrive had no problem filling the spot that Carbonite left. They have gotten a nice ad placement on Rush Limbaugh’s website and from what I have heard have him personally endorsing their service on his radio show and his website. Whether or not he actually uses the service I don’t know but it is interesting that he has continued promoting a cloud backup service. Certainly there are other companies beside cloud backup companies that would be interested in advertising with him.
Not everyone is happy that he has new sponsors of course and a quick search on Twitter shows that IDrive gets regular tweets directed at them calling for them to drop their advertising.
#Women disgusted by Limbaugh’s cynical & false #PlannedParenthood attacks should know #StopRush reads @idrive_online ad himself. #Fem2 #P2

Whether you like or hate Rush Limbaugh, IDrive is still a good cloud backup service and if you are thinking of using them you can save 20% by taking advantage of his promo code.
What do you think, would you switch your cloud backup service whether they advertise with Rush Limbaugh or not?
