- Operating System: Windows Only
- Storage Space: Unlimited storage
- Multiple Accounts and central administration: Backup only one computer
- True archiving: No. Data deleted from your PC will be automatically removed from your online account after 30 days
- Mapped drive support: No Mapped drive support.
- Bandwidth throttle: No limits up to 150 GB; bandwidth usage drops to 200 Kb/sec beyond 150 GB.
- Backup of Backups: No secondary backup available
- It is also important to note that you cannot move to an IDrive Basic or IDrive Pro plan once you sign up for the IDrive Unlimited plan.
The new IDrive Unlimited account offers unlimited data storage, but you are limited in other ways such as the bandwidth throttle no true archiving. This new plan however does fill a need for consumer backup and is a strong contender for the consumer wanting unlimited storage. In many ways this is the same type of offering that Carbonite and Backblaze offer although there are slight differences. If you are looking for a service similar to Carbonite, Backblaze or want to replace your old Mozy unlimited account this new IDrive unlimited plan could be perfect for you.
