Kim Dotcom Resigns as MEGA Director

Kim Dotcom announced today that he has stepped down from as the Managing Director of MEGA so he can focus his copyright case, his new political party and his music venture. According to TorrentFreak Dotcom actually was replaced as director last week.

This is probably a good move for MEGA, while the service has been expanding its user base, it has been slow to actually deliver on several software products including a desktop client and iOS client. This despite the fact that there have been statements that both are coming. Even their Android app was actually a purchase of an existing app and not created initially by the MEGA team. Hopefully the new director can help get some of these key software products out the door before MEGA loses more ground to the competition in mobile and easy desktop access.

While Kim Dotcom has resigned from MEGA their Twitter link still points at Kim Dotcom’s Twitter account and there is no doubt that he will still be involved in some way.
