You think that a company like Pixar would have their backup and recovery systems checked and double checked considering how much time and energy goes into making one of their great movies. Turns out that even Pixar has had problems with backups and recovery. Read about this recently on The Verge and wanted to share it here as well in case you have not seen this video yet.
This is a great reminder to check that your backups are working correctly and that you can recover your data. Not to mention how important it is to have an offsite backup. Back in 1999 when Toy Story 2 was made this was a harder thing to do, now offsite backups are easy with faster Internet connections and online backup services.
Hmm, think I will go and watch Toy Story 2 now and be glad they had a backup after all.
