SugarSync Version 2 Released

SugarSync 2 Desktop AppSugarSync has announced that they have released version 2 of their software. This latest version of the software comes with several new enhancements including new drag and drop sync, easier sharing of files with contacts, cloud search, a new SugarSync Drive, better photo gallery and redesigned mobile apps.

I had a few minutes this morning and decided to install the new version on my Windows 8 test machine. The hardest part was remembering what my login was for the service to download the latest version. The installation is easy and the new SugarSync drive is a nice added feature

I also installed the latest Android app on my phone and was able to easily setup a sync between my phone and desktop. The two really work well together and SugarSync has improved how folders and files sync across devices.

With this latest update SugarSync shows that it is a synchronization and online storage service and not really a backup service like Backblaze, CrashPlan and Carbonite, but you can tell SugarSync to sync any folder and files you want to their cloud storage and it will continue to make copies of the files so it can be used in some way to backup your files. The battle for online storage and sync continues here in 2013 and SugarSync has certainly raised the bar as far as sync goes.

I am going to try out the new SugarSync for a few days and then rewrite the review here on the site.

If you have tried the new SugarSync what is your opinion?
