World Backup Day is only 27 days away! While it does not seem to get as much press as it did when it first started, it is a great reminder to people to remember to backup and, just as important, to test that you can successfully restore your data from your backup.
When World Backup Day started it was a grass roots campaign that grew out of Reddit. That first year was perhaps the most successful as far as getting press and reminding people to backup. Since then the day has gotten bigger sponsors with Backblaze and CrashPlan both being the presenting sponsors different years, but the campaign has seem to lost some of its grass roots appeal with the website only linking out to the organizations that pay the large advertising fees for being on the website.
For those that are looking for a deal on cloud backup you are probably going to have an opportunity on March 31st to get a deal on a cloud backup or storage service but if you want to add another opportunity you can enter the Cloud Storage Buzz World Backup Day 2014 Contest!
