Yesterday Dropbox announced on their blog that the free referral space that you could earn from sending new people to sign up with Dropbox has been doubled. Not only will you and the person you refer now earn 500MB for free space instead of the previous 250MB of free space, but the total amount of free space you can earn is doubled as well. You can now earn up to 16GB of free extra space bringing your total to 18GB of free space.
The best part is, if you have constantly been referring new people to Dropbox you will automatically get the extra space! As you can see in the screenshoot of my referral space I have already been maxed out from the people I refer though this site. If you want a hand maxing out your referral space take a look at Review Dropbox. Simply leave a review of Dropbox and your referral code and you will be added to the referral lottery. I can only speculate that Dropbox is preparing for the possibility of Google launching Google Drive soon here in April. The more users Dropbox can secure using their service the less likely they will be to switch if and when Google Drive does become a reality.
