Dropbox Releases New Web Interface

Dropbox officially announced today the release of the latest version of their web interface. The design is easier to use and focuses on a better user experience. Photos use a Lightbox, not just in the photos folder but in any folder, and you can use a right click to gain access to the action menu.

Search is also improved considerably, and for those with large Dropbox accounts, this is excellent to have. The search still only searches file names and folders but if you have a file you can only remember a part of the name the search feature will now help you find it. If you can’t remember part of the file name and only the contents then you might be searching for awhile because Dropbox search still does not offer a content search.

I have been one of the lucky ones to have the new improved interface a few weeks ago and it is a good improvement. It would be nice if there was a way to edit files in the web interface, like word processing docs, spreadsheets etc, but Dropbox is not ready for that yet.
