Mozy Sync and Mobile Apps

Mozy is looking for beta testers for some new features that they plan to release. Mozy Sync will allow users to sync data between computers, similar to Dropbox. Files will be automatically synchronized between computers so you will have access to them when you need them.

Mozy is also looking for testers for their new mobile apps for iOS and Android. Users of the mobile apps will be able to view photo thumbnails, email files to friends and family, and download the full file (high resolution) right to their mobile device.

If you are interested in beta testing these new features from Mozy head on over and sign up on the Mozy website to be a beta tester.

These new features come at a good time for Mozy who has seen some negative press for the release of their new pricing plans. These new features will also move Mozy away from being just a backup service. Several other services already offer syncing features, most notably SugarSync, IDrive, SpiderOak and of course Dropbox. Many other services also offer mobile app access as well. Some of the services that offer mobile app access include: Carbonite, SugarSync, IDrive, SpiderOak and Memopal.
