Free Online Backup Service, Backzup.com, Protecting Over 20,000 Computers

I cannot even sign up for Backzup because I have used the same email address with other Livedrive resellers.
I first heard about the company Backzup shortly after Backify came crashing down. Their launch press release is dated November 23 which was exactly one week after Backify was closed down by Livedrive. I did not even bother to post their launch press release here but wanted to post this one since the founder of Backzup indirectly mentions Backify. There has been some suggestions that Backzup is related to Backify in the comments. That does not seem to be the case after reading this press release.

While Backzup does not appear to be Backify reborn, it clearly is a Livedrive reseller. I cannot even sign up for the service with my email address since I have signed up with other Livedrive resellers in the past. While the 512GB of free space is a tempting offer for many and it is a large amount of space, larger than many other services, you need to wonder how they can afford to offer such a large amount of storage for free? The old saying “if it sounds to good to be true it probably is” comes to mind.

I would advise people that before signing up for any of Livedrive resellers to please be sure to read the comments on the Livedrive review page. If you are going to store your data with Livedrive why not just sign up with Livedrive instead of a reseller. Then you can avoid some of the whole Backify mess from happening all over again.

I will include the Backzup press release below for you to read and if you want to know more about Livedrive the service you would actually be using with Backzup read our Livedrive review for more information.

Free Online Backup Service, Backzup.com, Protecting Over 20,000 Computers

https://www.Backzup.com , an online backup provider, has announced that just after a month of being in presence, it is already protecting the data of over 20,000 customers. Backzup hopes to continue growing and gain a bigger share of the online backup market.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 20, 2011

Backzup.com, an online backup provider today announced that just after a month of its launch, it is already serving the needs of over 20,000 customers and protecting their data.

Kevin Hernandez, the CEO of the company said that one of the reasons behind the company’s success is the free 512 GB disk space that it is offering. He said that this plan has been very popular among the customers and the company has decided to keep offering it, unlike some other backup service providers that initially offer free space to attract customers and later start charging them. “Backzup is a trustworthy, and reliable company and you can trust us with your data,” he said. He further said that another reason why customers love Backzup is the excellent customer support provided by the company.

Backzup offers 5 different plans to its customers. It offers 512 GB disk space totally free. Other plans are 1.0 TB, 1.5 TB, 2.0 TB and Unlimited space for $0.99/month, $1.49/month, $1.99/month and $2.49/month respectively.

Commenting on the few initial reports about the company, Hernandez said, “Immediately after our launch, we were given some bad reviews by a few blogs, which were totally based on skepticism about our free 512 GB plan. This is cruel and can be threatening to the reputation of a company that is just launching. Despite these hardships, Backzup was able to win the love and trust of over 20,000 people due to its excellent service and world class customer support.”

Backzup has already established itself as one of the leading companies providing online backup solutions. The company hopes to keep growing at a fast pace and gain a bigger share of the online backup market.

I signed up for backzup last month because of the great deal.. guess it was too good to be true.. I was on vacation and noticed either Jan 1st or something around there, my LiveDrive was suspended for no reason. I have repeatable emailed [email protected] with no responses. I called their 800 number for the last two days and it rings busy…. I have a feeling they folded. Horrible. I spend all this time dumping carbonite, then backing up my PCs to LiveDrive and the service craps out. I thought it was great they had LiveDrive because then I can show pictures, etc from my android/iphone where or login to send links, etc. Release the hounds!
