Suggested Livedrive Resellers

Livedrive resellers have been having a tough time of it again lately. Last fall it was Backify and this spring there have already been closures of Beecloud.eu and Backzup.com. While I highly suggest people do not purchase backup services through a reseller if you are determined to use a Livedrive reseller here are a few that seem to offer decent service and will hopefully be around a little longer than the earlier mentioned services.

Tapnet – Located in Edmonton Alberta Canada this Livedrive reseller offers reasonable packages.

Bulldog Backup – Located in the UK appear to offer better support and reasonable priced packages.

GotABackup – Also located in the UK. Have a focus on students.

Zovo – Another UK reseller. They have been realistic in their service and have been around since August 2011.

Using a reseller of another service adds an extra layer to your backup, not only do you have to worry about your data being safe but the reseller needs to stay afloat and continue to pay their bills otherwise your account and your data could be gone or worse in someone else’s hands. Not only that but resellers do not have direct access to the backup software. They need to rely on the main company to fix any problems that might exist. They might offer support but if it is a software issue they are unlikely to be able to fix it.

I do highly recommend you take a look at the top online backup services that I do recommend and try one of those services, but if you are determined to use a Livedrive reseller give the ones on this page a try. I can’t guarantee they will be around tomorrow, but hopefully they have strong enough business models to keep them around longer than the Backify, Beecloud and Backzup Livedrive resellers out there.

I’d like to pitch in a bit here –

I agree that a reseller adds in an extra layer; but if you choose a reseller like on of the above, you can be pretty sure that they’re stable. In the case they do have problems, the ones above would probably give you some notice period if they realize they might have to shut down.

About the inaccessibility of the direct application by the reseller – I have to say, an easy way to get around this is by directly using livedrive app for desktop and “Open Access” apps on the mobile or tablet stores.

So with the above two aspects of livedrive resellers, I didn’t have any added disadvantage as compared to livedrive as such.

Though eventually, I left because of the upload speeds and excessive CPU/Disk usage caused by livedrive.

If something is too good to be true, then it is. “sell unlimited online backup to unlimited customers for a flat fee of $59.95/month” – it cannot be true. If you just think about it for 1 minute, you know it is fake, it is a trap. If this ever worked well for just one reseller, then all other online backup service providers would be out of business.

Online backup is a commodity market now. There is too much competition and little profit. Reselling online backup service usually does not work well. The profit margin is very thin, the commission rate is low, and the service price is also low, so a reseller can barely make any money.

While sometimes viewed as an online backup or online storage provider, DriveHQ is in a different market. We are the first Cloud IT Solution provider. For SMBs, our service can replace their in-house file server, FTP server, email server, web server, share point server, backup system, etc. We can save SMBs a lot of money. Whether you are an SMB or a reseller, you should look for a reputable company that offers high quality service and support.

I understand your skepticism – but its not exactly trap. Its possible – of course with limitations of its own (Lack of true encryption because unencrypted deduplication and slow speeds from my experience).

There have many livedrive resellers who are successful and are still up and running.

Ya, I think it was that review that made me notice they shut down. Heard that it was because Livedrive actually changed the reseller terms of service, but I have not been able to confirm that.
