SOS Online Backup Secures $3 Million Series A Round

Read on TechCrunch today that SOS Online Backup has raised $3 million in Series A funding. Nice to hear that they are getting additional funding.

 

Another interesting tidbit from the TechCrunch article was the mention that SOS Online Backup has 500,000 users. Not bad for a company that is going up against bigger players like Mozy, with a possible 3,000,000 users and Carbonite with over 1,000,000 users.

I have also heard that SOS Online Backup has a Mac client that will be available before the end of 2011. Perhaps that is bigger news for Mac users, but there was no mention of that on the TechCrunch article. It is mentioned in the SOS Online Backup knowledge base though if you search for Apple.

Now if they would only get an Android client available along with the iPhone and Blackberry apps
